Corb Stewart Apartments: New rental complex in Arnprior

Located northwest of Ottawa in the quaint town of Arnprior, the Corb Stewart residential development includes two five-storey apartment buildings and a series of three-storey townhomes, the latter of which will be constructed in the second phase of the project.

Situated on Corb Stewart Drive and backing onto Baskin Drive, the two phase-one buildings offer 29 one- and two-bedroom units each, providing a needed boost to the availability of rental options in the town, which is among the fastest growing in Canada. The building was designed to comply with CMHC standards to increase energy efficiency and performance by 15% while providing affordable housing.

The use of wood framing for the buildings was both an economical and environmentally sound choice. As a strong, durable, cost-effective framing material and a renewable resource, wood has become the dominant framing material for mid-rise buildings as interest in sustainable building solutions grows. Natural clay brick and stone make up the base of the buildings’ cladding materials, giving way to the lightweight wood-grained metal siding on the upper levels. The brick, stone, panel siding and horizontal metal siding lend a contemporary feel to the exterior façade of the otherwise unassuming buildings.

Complete with full building automation, on-site laundry and ample parking, the new development offers all the necessities for living in the growing community.
